The first thing you must do is sign up for an Extra Care Card. You can do this in-store and online. Use your Extra Care Card with every purchase and earn Extra Care Bucks (ECBs). ECBs print out on your register receipt. ECBs are not cash; rather you use your ECBs toward your next CVS purchase. The goal is to spend as little out-of-pocket as possible and roll over your ECBs.
Here’s a little scenario on how you can work Extra Care Bucks:
Scan your weekly ad for ECB Deals. CVS will often offer one or more products FREE after ECBs. So let's just say that Arm and Hammer Laundry Detergent is on sale for $2.50 and you get $2.50 back in ECBs. Use a $1.00 coupon, spend $1.50 out-of-pocket and get $2.50 back in ECBs. Technically, you just made $1.50. If there is a limit of 5, you can do this 5 times!
So you spent $1.50, but you got $2.50 back AND you have free laundry detergent. You can roll over your $2.50 ECBs like this: suppose there are diaper wipes on sale for $3.50. You use a $1.00/1 Diaper wipe coupon coupon and then use your $2.50 and get the Diaper wipes for FREE. So you spent $1.50 and got laundry detergent and a Diaper wipes. Now it’s possible that there would be an ECB deal on the Diaper wipes, so maybe you end up getting back the $3.50 you spent.
